about

Section Records slams into 2011 with it's first single release, an EP of stunning remixes of “Strange Parallels”, one of Tripswitch's most iconic productions to date. Originally featuring on Nick Warren's GU30 – Paris compilation on Global Underground, the track received numerous requests for a single release, and after inclusion in the warmly-received 2nd Tripswitch long-player “Geometry” (the first release on Nick Brennan's own label Section Records), the track gets a much-anticipated airing of its own with a selection of killer remixes spanning several genres.

Purple vs Tim Healey re-rub
Remix 1 is from Prog-meister Purple and godfather of electro-house Tim Healey, whose slamming mix gives Dadalife and Dirtyloud a good run for their money. Filthy basslines and floor-shaking beats do little to prepare you for the mind-bending build-ups that are guaranteed to send the dancefloor mental!

Shiloh remix
Canadian legends Shiloh give the track the progressive house treatment, creating a melodic journey pulled along by pristine beats and pulsating sub-bass. An epic breakdown builds and then explodes into a heady blend of synths that perfectly complements the shoegaze guitar of the original.

Aurtas remix
Upcoming Japanese producer Aurtas, Section Records's first signing, shows his untapped skill with this progressive floor-filler which takes the melody of the original in new directions. With a sound reminiscent of classic Way Out West, brought bang up to date with a hi-def bassline and cutting edge leads, Aurtas builds harmonies on top of the original which keep surprising you right to the end.

Codemonkey Supernova remix
Nick Tripswitch's alter-ego Codemonkey brings the track into atmospheric dubstep territory for mix 4. A rumbling bassline combines with intricate beats and spacious pads and atmospherics, creating a powerful and evocative journey to the dark side, blasted along on solar winds and razor-sharp leads.

Koan remix
Russian producers Koan produce a euphoric mid-tempo trance mix powered by driving beats and soaring synth leads. Spacious and uplifting, this epic 9 and a half minute remix gives a firm nod back to the glory days of trance music while keeping the sound current and staying faithful to the original track.

Indidginus Simulacrum remix
Cape Town-based Indidginus takes us in an old-school psy-trance direction, southern hemisphere-style, for mix number six. Ethnic-inspired melodies counterpoint raw bass and complex beats, until the emergence of the guitar and piano at the breakdown prepare us for a melodic and uplifting finale.

ODT remix
Previously known for collaborations with SCORB, UK psy-trance producers ODT wrap up the remixes with a cheeky, full-powered psytrance mix. 303 lines and razor leads build the tension until the guitar-led crescendo takes us on to a dark and brooding ending.

Original mix
Delicate percussion introduces a truly epic and memorable guitar melody, which then expands on a bed of multi-layered beats, ethereal pads and reversed guitar, until the melody comes back in full force, with a smooth sub-bass backing and rich, shoegaze guitar. We're left bobbing on a sea of delay lines as the track dissolves away to nothing.
