It's been 4 years since the release of Tripswitch's last artist album 'Geometry'. 4 years devoted to touring and building up his label Section Records; and in the studio, primarily giving other artists' music the Tripswitch treatment with a string of remixes for the likes of The Orb, Abakus, Ticon, Banco De Gaia, Seb Dhajje, Noir, Liquid Soul and Symbolic, Kaya Project and Adham Shaikh among others, but also slipping out a few tracks on compilations for labels like Renaissance, Iboga, Armada, Plusquam and Ultimae.
Tripswitch maestro Nick Brennan's been deep in production of a new album for the past 9 months, but before we let you in on that little secret it's time to unleash this EP of 4 mid-tempo smashers which have formed a chunk of his live sets over the past few years. Originally intended as live-only compositions, the fan mail has continued to roll in asking what these tracks were and when were they coming out. So we figured it was time to commit them to proper recordings and let you get your hands on them.
Creating a bridge between the chillout and the main floor, the first 3 tracks on the EP are firmly rooted in an energy-filled, 128bpm groove. The title track is an 11 minute epic of pumping progressive house, rolling along on a chunky rhythm section with trancey, melodic twists and turns which divide the track into 3 distinct sections. 'Ad Infinitum' brings more of a techno edge, with swirling atmospherics enveloping a spooky blend of minor arpeggios and melodies, over a solid driving techno base. 'Wasted' is a rocking slab of house, based loosely on Nick's old label-mate and compadre Abakus's 'Wasted Feeling', taking an already epic theme and adding a load more epic. The final track “Box Fresh” slows the tempo by a few BPM, providing a connection to the new Nick Brennan sound we'll be announcing soon. It's a dreamy, etherial track that skips along on intricate, layered house drums, building slowly towards an orgasmic climax. If you like your breakdowns huge, epic and melodic, this one's a real goose-bumper!
Propulsion is sure to be a big hit with the Tripswitch faithful and anyone who's caught one of his stunning live shows over the past few years. Those waiting for another Tripswitch downtempo album will have to wait a little bit longer ... in the meantime though, this release will bring back the vibes of those summer festivals as the nights draw in.

Let Dark Light ease The Impact"
Believe me, man, I'm trying to ease the impact. Thanks for the tunes, bro-heem. Gaman (我慢) Drew
I'm so utterly fond of Entheogenic that I may not be objective when it comes to this duo. Let the music speak. Edit: not correct to say "duo", Entheogenic has long since become the project of Piers Oak-Rhind. God bless him. 9/10 sergpot
Flush with lounge-ready arrangements and balmy, mid-tempo electronic grooves, Tom Lown's second studio album is pure Balearic bliss. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 17, 2022
Whilst not as cohesive perhaps as the follow up albums or the perfection of the earlier Spontaneous Illumination, and they are all incredible, this has moments of heavenly perfection and some blissful moments. The guitar and minimal vocals on Entheogen Spice get me every time. Mark 007
